Studies

January 1998: Started Spanish classes 1 hour per week during lunchtimes with my company.
September 1998: Left my job and went with my wife to ISLA for 2 months of classes.
January 1999: Returned to ISLA for another month of classes (6 hours per day).
May 2000: After a brief refresher, passed the English A-level and the DELE Básico.
2001: Refresher week with my first teacher, in Madrid. Excellent.
Started attending private weekly classes locally.
November 2001: Spent an intensive week of individual classes, then passed the DELE Superior.
October 2003: Another week at ISLA, then passed the Open University LL204 mid-level exam.
November 2005: Passed the Open University L314 higher-level exam, gaining the Diploma in Spanish.
January 2008: Had an email interview with Eleena de Lisser for her excellent blog Voices en Español. There also a Spanish translation (not done by me - it's far too good!)

Enero 1998: Empecé a estudiar español una hora por semana durante la hora de descanso, en mi empresa.
Septiembre 1998: Dejé el puesto y fuimos mi mujer y yo a ISLA por 2 meses.
Enero 1999: Volví a ISLA para pasar otro mes de clases intensivas (6 horas al día).
Mayo 2000: Tras otro breve curso, aprobé el A-level y el DELE Básico.
2001: Otra semana con mi primera profesora, en Madrid. Excelente.
Empecé a asistir a clases privadas semanales en mi ciudad.
Noviembre 2001: Tras una semana de clases intensivas, aprobé el DELE Superior.
Octubre 2003: Otra semana en ISLA, y aprobé el examen LL204 de la Open University.
Noviembre 2005: Aprobé el examen L314 de la Open University, ganando el Diploma de español.
Enero 2008: Me entrevistó por email Eleena de Lisser para su excelente blog Voces en español. La traducción al español no lo hice yo. ¡Es mucho mejor que una traducción mía! También hay la versión original inglesa.
